The Democratic Federal Republic of Voegen (Voegeiaan: Var Dëmokrastikaten Rëspublika Federalë de Vøegön; Swedish: Demokratiska förbundsrepubliken Voegen), formerly known as The Constitutional Monarchy of Voegen (Voegeiaan: Var Kjørvëlkaaten Abjnförld de Vøegön; Swedish: Den konstitutionella monarkin i Voegen), and is commonly referred to as Voegen, is a sovereign Nordic nation located on the continent of Alisna in the the North of the region of Maredoratica. To the South, Voegen is bordered by Svenskågard and beyond that is the nation of the Greater Saxony. To the East of Voegen is Nišava and beyond that to the East and South-East of Voegen is the nation of Hardenburgh. Also, to the East and North-East of Voegen, Voegen is bordered by Roskilde. In addition with this, Voegen has only one maritime border and that is with Svenskågard to the south of the nation. Voegen, in comparison with any other nation in Maredoratica is a relatively average sized nation that encompasses approximately 581,900 square km including their maritime claim. However, in comparison with any nation in Alisna, it is rather large, with the notable exception of Hardenburgh and Roskilde.

Voegen has traditionally been governed and ruled through a constitutional monarchy, however, the monarch(s) of Voegen only have a reasonable amount of power compared to that of the Prime Minister and Premier. The monarch(s) of Voegen have reserve power to overturn a legislation of decision and have a ceremonial duty of visiting the parliament of Voegen once every week. Currently, the ruling monarch(s), variating between daily duty, of Voegen are of the Øjrkeld Håuse, which is translated into English as literally Øjrkeld House. This house has been the ruling family of nobility since the twentieth century when King Alexander Øjrkeld assumed the throne after abdication of his uncle. The monarch(s) of Voegen are currenty Friedrich Øjrkeld I and Elizabeth Øjrkeld. Furthermore, the current prime minister of Voegen is William Väsen and the current premier is Angela Sydow. In Voegen, the parliament is lead from Var Voegørfkot which in English is literally translated to as The Parliament of Voegen.

The current capital city of Voegen, albeit not the largest, is the city of Södertälje. Södertälje, which is the second largest city in Voegen by population and the third largest city in Voegen by area, is situated upon the mouth of the Väljei River which is located on the coast of Voegen feeding into the Western Maredoratic. Currently, the largest city in Voegen by both population and area is the city of Mjölnir which at this point is accommodating approximately one eighth of the population of Voegen (Mjölnir has a population of four million five hundred thousand eight hundred and forty six). Voegen is a member of the Maredoratic League and because of this, Mjölnir was selected to be the centre of the Maredoratic Tourism Organization which it has upheld since 1997. Mjölnir was also the former capital of Voegen before it was relocated in 1991 as it was too close to the border of a hostile enemy. On a side note, the second largest city in Voegen by area and third largest in population is the city of Käldostk which has a significant amount of people with Ostrian ancestry.

Voegen was once a major cultural power with a significant influence in Maredoratica during the sixteenth century and a substantial amount of time in the seventeenth century as an oversea colonial empire controlling a protectorate in the Middle East continent, a mandate in Wylassia, an archipelago which was registered as a dominion in the Western Maredoratic Ocean and a variety of colonies across Maredoratica. However, during the later period of the sixteenth century, The Voegeiaan Empire suffered an economic downturn with the daily exporting average barely scraping past minimum. Another factor of this downturn was because of the insufficient upkeep required to maintain the already overstretched navy. In 1721, the remaining remnant of the empire was renamed a commonwealth. Almost a century later, with the navy of Voegen reformed, began to colonise the unclaimed area of the world and once again the second empire was dismantled and reverted to a commonwealth.

During the period of time when Voegen participated within the Great Alisnan War, they had took a large role in the northern front primarily through invading the nation of Svenskågard through the navy. During this offensive, the Voegen navy gained a sizeable portion of the Svenskån coastline but were later repelled through a united attempt. On the 13th May 1991, the navy of Voegen, under guidance of Admiral Johanne Gøthenburg, launched an offensive named the Battle of the Svenskan Ocean where a small force of the navy attacked the remaining Svenskån fleet within the Western Maredoratic. With an outstanding victory of the Voegeiaan navy, the result of the battle was the withdrawal of the Svenskån fleet from the ocean and then later, the modernising of their naval fleet. In the year 2000, after the prime ministerial and premier election, Voegen withdrew from the war. A national holiday was celebrated throughout Voegen and has been a public holiday each year since. Along with being a member of the Maredoratic League, Voegen is also a signatory of the Martigues Agreement.

Scientific research and evidence from a multitude of archaeological sites from across Voegen has proven the fact that between the Permian period and the Jurassic period, Voegen was inhabited by a plethora of now extinct species - most notably the reptilian species known as the dinosaurs. It is believed that the most dominant of these was a dinosaur that was known as Spinosaurus and also a variant known as the Carcharodontosaurus.

Archaeological evidence from throughout Voegen has supported the concept that Homo Septentrionalis, which in English is translated to Men of the North, inhabited the area which is now modern day Voegen. A skeletal remain found in a paleolithic cave in southern Voegen has shown that this hominid species had emigrated to the north and evolved from the Homo Neanderthalensis species. Possibly the most famous fossil of the Homo Septentrionalis species is that of the Valørn Man who was discovered by an excavation team in 2002 while searching the Katjak Mountain. Almost a year after the discovery of the fossil, they had found that this specimen was alive around two hundred and fifty three thousand years ago.
